    Post: Accounting for Escrow

Posted by Linda E on 11/03/03

I have asked my attorney repeatedly for an accounting of my
escrow. He has held the money for two years. $100,000 for
six months, and $50,000 for eighteen months. He has never
given me an accounting for the $100,000 he held for six
months. He claims he forgot to invest it. The $50,000 he
put in a interest bearing checking account. Also is it
customary for an attorneys office associate to charge the
same as the law partner? (The money was in his hands
because of a lien on a house, $14,500).
