Re: complaint attorney to attorney

Dear Counsel.Net Friend, What did the other lawyer threaten to do to your lawyer? Beat him up? Sue him? I can't imagine how one lawyer might threaten another lawyer at a court appearance. Of course, if the other lawyer did something unethical, then he can be reported to the person or group in your state that handles ethics complaints against lawyers for some type of disciplinary action against the offending lawyer. No lawyer likes to be under the spot-light of the "bar police". In Louisiana the so-called "bar police" is called the Office of Disicplinary Counsel (ODC). They are the ones who investigate ethics complaints against lawyers and take legal action to have lawyers disciplined in one fashion or another. If I had more information about what the "threat" consisted of, then I might be able to give you a better answer. Good luck to you and your lawyer!
