Opposing attorney took us to court because they did not feel they still owed $2,200 at stated in the settlement agreement that opping client AND attorney signed and witnessed. He did not pay so we petitioned the court for it. They demanded a hearing and they lost. The opposing attorney tried to present an old settlement offer that was 7 months old. I foound a newer on dated 2 months prior to settlement signing that was exactly the amount of money we should havereceived. This letter was written by none other than the oppising client's attorney. They tried to prove we knew there was a misunderstanding about the $2,200 and it was included in a larger sum of money for 1/2 the equity in the house. The judge did not buy it. The opposing client and attorney signed the settlement agreement first. This deciet cost the opposing client over $1,000 in court costs and attorney fees and he paid the $2,200 with interest. Obviously the opposing attorney messed up.Can a complaint be filed against this unethical attorney?
