Post: Child Support of Child age 17 who dropped out of high school
Posted by Mark Vaughan on 3/28/07
I have a 17 year old son who I have custody of. On May 15, 2005 he decided to go live with his mom where he could live with no structure and not have the rules of the house that we have. He dropped out of school in October of 2006 and is now working full time off and on when he can keep a job. I received paperwork in the mail that she wants to take me to court on child support issues...We have never went to court to change the custody orders. If he is 17 years of age and he is not going to school, nor being home schooled do I still owe for child support for him in Texas? Thank you!
