    Post: Daughters custody rights

    Posted by Jolene on 2/14/09

My daughter had a son a year ago with a young man she had
been living with for 2 years. This year he decided he
wanted out and is now living with another gal. He has told
her that according to Florida law since the son was born
in Fl she cannot take him out of the state if she wants to
move home, and if he has the son 2-3 nights a week and
every other weekend he won't pay support because he is
sharing custody. He is willing to pay half to daycare
expenses. He threatens to go for custody if she pushes
the issue on support. He makes over $2400 a month while
she is taking home $1400 a month. Since she doesn't have
custody persay she can't file for housing allowance etc
and now has to look at housing in the Land O Lakes area
that is suitable for them to live onwhat she can afford.
Does she have any rights as the single mother?
