I am 5 months pregnant and hoping my ex will relinquish
his parental rights. If he chooses to do so do I need a
lawyer? And If he doesn't how do I ask the court to take
them from him? Can I get legal aid for any of this? Where
do I go to apply for it in west texas? And can this be
done before my baby is even born? We were never married,
but we did live together for 6 months. Is this considered
common law marriage and if so would it be to my advantage
to file for divorce then fight for custody? Does the court
have to establish paternity before he even has rights? On
the birth certificate can I give her my name? What if I am
unsure of his paternity? Then does she automatically get
my name?
