Post: Question about international divorce
Posted by Damien on 7/29/09
I am from the US. I married a woman from Canada 4 years ago and had two children. We are no longer able to continue our marriage. We have both decided that it would be best to divorce, but she is now telling me that I will only be able to get my children once a year for two weeks in the summer. Up until this point I have offered to buy her a car, deliver everything out of the house to her, and also pay her a nice chunk of child support a month. I am suppose to pack up her stuff and drive a UHAUL to canada the end of next month, I was trying to bring my two children back for two weeks since I will already be there. She told me that she would not allow me to take my children at this time. I am on unemployment now being I have just returned from Iraq just a few months ago, but I start my new job in Sept. so with that being said I don't know when I will get another chance like this. How should I go about this?
