Post: Objection to assignment of parenting coordinator
Posted by MG on 9/30/10
I am a new attorney handling a family law issue for my first client. The opposing party has filed a motion to appoint a new parenting coordinator and I have a few questions regarding the appropriate response to this motion. The previous parenting coordinator died almost a year ago and now the opposing party wants to appoint a new one, however, my client does not see the benefit or need to appoint a new coordinator. They have been divorced for over 7 years and their 2 children are very close to the age of majority. My client would like to object to the appointment. She has jut retained my to handle this issue and the court date to hear the motion to appoint is 10/05. Can anyone tell me what to expect at this hearing? Also, do I file my Objection at the hearing or before. If it is before, as I assume it is, how long before? Thank you in advance!
