Post: green card through marriage to a US citizen

an illigal married to a US citizen, applied for a green
card, passed interview and recieved temporary green card.
In 2 years supposed to pass second interview to get
permanent green card. What if before 2 years up couple
separated due to adultery of a US citizen and considering a
divorce. Will it affect status of a green card holder.
Another question can a green card holder marry another US
citizen and process continues to get permanent green card.
