Dear Mandi, For pleasure/ tourism/medical treatment you can apply under B2 visa. These are generally issued up to a period of 3 months to 10 years. An additional extension of 6 months can be obtained based on the approval by the INS. However, to obtain B2 visa the visitor should show strong evidences to prove that his intention is just to visit US and his stay in US will only temporary. Therefore, you should submit the application plus supporting documents to prove that he has strong base in his home country and he will return from US within the permitted time. Please see an immigration attorney to help you with you case. Thanks On 4/01/07, Mandi wrote: > My friend and I are trying to get him a tourist visa so that > he can visit me here in the US.
