Post: Invitation for Fiance's mother to attend wedding in U.S.

Posted by Ms. Gigi on 5/05/08

My fiance, who currently holds an H-4 visa holder, is now
living in the US and his visa is still valid. We are
about to get married this year. He came to this country
along with his wife at the time. She was the holder of an
H-1 visa. However, they subsequently got divorced in
2006. He was the dependent of her. The concerns we have
is that now that he wishes to remarry, he would like to
extend an invitation to his mother in Jamaica to attend
the wedding. His mother does not currently own a visa.
We would like to know, would it be appropriate if the
invitation letter is sent by himself to his mother, by
myself or by both of us?
