Hi,

I am interested in becoming a patent attorney.

I will receive a PhD in chemistry this September and I have
a broad background in biotechnology and nanotechnology.
During my PhD thesis my University protected my work via a
patent and I have written a patent application once myself.
I am German (native language) and hence could also work for
German companies that look for IP protection in the US.

Currently I work in the US for an University (I don't have
a GC). How can I become a patent attorney ? How are the
chances that an IP company would hire me _and_ pay for law
school ?

Does anyone have suggestions how to proceed ? Just send my
resume to some IP companies ?
