If a Doctor is negligent in reporting a high glucose
reading from a blood test a year ago and than again two
months ago is there any legal recourse?
Six months previous my blood sugar was normal so I've
skipped through pre-Diabetes into uncontrolled requiring
medications and twice daily glucose testing. Do I need to
show more damage? What if I have retina or heart issues
now? I feel like I was robbed an opportunity to delay the
disease for maybe years.
Other than legal do I have alternatives that would send a
clear message to the Doctor that he can not get away with
this level of competence without ramifications. It was only
dumb luck that it was discovered at all.
Also the original PA from a different Clinic who ordered
the test did not tell me either over the 4 weeks he was on
my case.
Also my Pain Management Clinic didn't provide any
documentation prior to six Cortisone injections stating
that steroids increases blood sugar and for people
susceptible to Diabetes to be especially aware. I read that
someone sued for this failure before. Not sure if they won
but Clinic did change level of awareness.
Maybe I should forget about failings and just deal with my
Diabetes?
