Post: Rental Laws in Virginia

Posted by C Laird on 4/25/10
We are a military couple renting a house in Virginia. We have given the Owners of the home 3500 in deposits and took possession of the home in January - at that time we assigned the home an allotment, therefore, rent is NEVER late. There is a pool...the pool is set to be open on Memorial Day. I called the owner to try and find out the date so that I can make arrangements to be here. He then started screaming at me telling me to get off the property, do not contact them in any way, nor mail them. The way he was behaving I asked if this was his way of evicting us and he said yes. I know VA has a thing that you can evict for no reason. Can someone here give me a little guidance on this.........or should I contact JAG?
