Post: Mothers death-wrongful death or malpractice suite?

My mother lived in a small town in Nebr. where the nurse practicioner (sp.) took on alot of responsibility. My mother was taken by ambulance to the hospital after nursecare at home--her breast cancer had returned and had advanced. After a week in the local hospital the nurse pract.read mom's MRI scan and said that the cancer was now in her bones and she may have a month to live. After that she asked where she would like us to release her to---a couple of different nursing homes. She said medicaid/medicare would not pay for continued hospitalization. We took her to a nursing home that not only didn't have a hospital bed, (she was laying flat and coudn't breathe,) they had to have one of their employees run an errand to get mom's medication-15 miles away. Shortly after that incident and receiving her medication she passed away. I feel the medical team should have known she needed continued monitored care in a medical facility? Granted she was terminal but why would her death by hastened ? Isn't there a medical code of ethics that would protect her? Thanks for your comments and any expert advice you can give!!!!!
