Post: Does Internet advertising work… even for low-income clients?

On one of the “lawyer e-mail lists,” someone wondered if
Internet advertising works — even for low-income clients.
I thought I'd share my response with the Counsel.net
attorneys... Here's my response:
I used to think that my clients weren’t using the
Internet, either — until one day, I visited my client
in “government housing” (a.k.a. “the projects”) — it was a
serious personal injury case, and I needed to take some
photos of the place of injury.
Anyhow, here’s this single-parent mother with 7 kids,
living off of food stamps and welfare, and she’s got cable
T.V. and Internet access. Granted, it was dial-up, but it
was still Internet — and she had 2 e-mail accounts:
One for spam, and one for personal e-mails.
More and more people are using the Internet nowadays,
especially since the price has come way down. Maybe even a
year ago, I wouldn’t think that Internet advertising would
work for low-income clients, but now I’ve got a different
view.
