Post: Attorney making copies of mail

Posted by Shannon on 9/12/07
I am currently going through a divorce. A $21,500 cashier's check made out to my father, the envelope was addressed to me was received at my former home, by my estranged husband. He stated that it had arrived opened. He took the mail to his attorney. She removed the contents of the envelope, made copies of the contents, and then gave me my mail. Is this legal?
