Post: Employer Opening Personal Mail

Posted by Michael on 6/01/11
My former employer opened two articles of mail addressed to me not the company on the outside, the contents or address from the sender were unrelated to the company. The contents resulted in a dispute and me leaving the company. I believe this to be illegal but do not know what steps to take besides reporting this to the United States Postal Inspectors Service. I am wondering since this caused me to be terminated I think unjustly from the company if there is anything else I can do. Thank you for any help you can provide.
