Post: DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER BY A NEWSPAPER

Posted by REMI27 on 6/10/05
My half brother and some friends were recently arrested and charged for possesion of meth, mfg meth, and fraud. In the article the names listed were my half brother, my dad's name, and the friends name. My dad had nothing to do with this. He has not seen or spoke to my half brother in many years. The article was on the front page of our local newspaper and my dad's good name is the reason his business does well. They did post a retractment the statement on the front of the newspaper the next day, but there was no apology. Does my dad have a case against this newspaper? I know it was a mistake in printing, but it's a costly mistake.
