Post: Seller's disclosure obligations

We recently moved into a condo. The very first rain storm brought immediate complaints from two downstairs neighbors that they had water damage on their ceilings directly under our exterior doors. Further discussions revealed that one of those units had had problems before, and that the owner of our unit had provided a "bandaid fix." He placed a bead of caulk along the edge of the door sill. This temporarily stalled the problem. Meanwhile, the next door unit had the same problem. They took a more serious approach to fixing the problem and learned that at construction, no flashing was installed under the door sill. Because our doors and some of the building structure will need to be fully removed to install flashing, estimates for a fix are coming in at $10,000. The warranties on our condo have expired and we cannot go after the builder. Does our seller's band-aid fix adequately address this problem in the eyes of the law? Or should he have disclosed to us that there were known material defects?
