My husband had a one nite stand with a woman who has now
made it her mission to have him fired and ruin our lives.
We were granted an order of protection against this woman
because she has come to our house several times. She is
accusing me and my husband of threatening to kill her and
her children (all 7 of them) and files false police reports
on a few times a month at different districts throughout
the city and suburbs. The police have to take her report
seriously even though they know she's nuts too, but this
woman never has to prove any of her allegations. She claims
harrasing calls, but we can provide our phone statement
that shows no calls were made from our personal phones or
our work phones. She never has to provide a copy of her
bill to show that the call actually took place. She states
that we are having her followed and threatened by all our
family members. This woman is seriously mentally ill and
everyone can see it. This has caused us much embarrasment
at work and in our neighberhood. Can we sue this woman for
slander or defamation of charachter? If not, does anyone
have any suggestions?
