Post: Misplaced hammer fell on me in Lowe's

Posted by Patricia on 6/21/06
I was being shown hammers from a wall display in Lowe's Home Improvement store in Woburn, MA by an employee, when reaching for one indicated by the salesperson,it hit the hammer next to it and knocked it down. It bounced off my face and the salesman said it was in the wrong place. I immediately went to customer service to speak to a manager and file an injury report. I was told by the safety manager, and eventually the store manager, that there were no injury reports and to just wait until the corporate office contacts me. I refused to leave without something in writing, so I finally wrote out a statement that the safety manager signed. I also saw my doctor the following morning for bruises on my face. Help, I need a lawyer...they refused to pay my medical co-payment of $15.00 because I didn't fill out any paperwork!! Not to mention the bruises and duress..I really need a lawyer, any recommendations? Never done this before...thank you.
