I wanted to tell you my husband was rated 16 % in Hawaii and he is getting $40,152.00 as a settlement offer - he has had his surgery - Don't you need to get the workman comp rules for your state? There is an agreed to amount for each state and for each point of disability an amount they can give you; unless there is an underlieing reason they have been so fraudulent and all....anyway why are you trying to get a settlement before the surgery? Get your surgury and then wait about 1 1/2 years after therapy and all and then go to retraining and then try and get a settlement. Who cares how old you are and what you made? Go to the Workman Comp Board or Labor Board for your state....in Hawaii they had a red book you got from the Labor Board....The book is hard to read but you can read it slowly and over about a year and a half you will begin to understand it and beable to help yourself.....don't hire a lawyer .....they just take part of your money...unless you like to give 20% away ...or whatever you state allows... email me if you want. janb.7@juno.com
