I settled my case on January 18, 2006. On that day my
lawyer told me that the opposing side was given two weeks
to turn over paperwork and the judge was given another two
weeks to sign the paperwork. My lawyer told me that it
should not take no more than a month and than after that
time the opposing side will have to pay a penalty fine.
Well today is April 21, 2006 and now they tell me my check
is ready but when I ask about any the penalty money I
should receive my lawyer beats around the bush. I think
there trying to screw me personally. So basically it has
taken them four months to get my check. My questions are
how long are they given to turnover payment? And how is
the penalty charge calculated if there is a penalty
charge? By the way Im in Florida if that makes a
difference in the law.
