This site is composed of 99% non-lawyers who cannot
discuss anything except how to get a degree they don't
have to actually work for and then others who enjoy
insulting people who post questions and correct their
    spelling. Sounds like fun huh?

Unfortunately, legal advice is not what is provided here.
This is supposed to be a chat board for law students to
discuss issues and problems they encounter in law school.
Only problem is, none of them actually go to law school.
Your question does not say what state or community you
live in. How you go about getting your property returned
to you will depend on the laws of your state/community and
upon the factual circumstances of how/why your gun was
confiscated. Even if you provide more information it is
unlikely you can get an answer here that will help you.
You need to consult an attorney in your community for
    competent advice.

Hope my post passes the spell check police inspection.
