If you hire your own attorney they will take your case on contigency which will cost you 33-40 percent. So, if you end up with a 100,000 settlement you can kiss 40,000 good bye. Since the company is already trying to settle why pay an attorney 40% to accept a settlement? Be patient and let the settlement discussions or jury trial unfold. Best of luck to you.
