Post: EEOC time limits

Posted by Eleanor on 8/30/08

Help! I think my lawyer just screwed me over. I filed a
charge of employment discrimination after my tenure decision
was denied. I went through the whole process of appeals from
the appeals board to the board of trustees. And filed within
six months of the board's decision. The EEOC ruled I should
have filed before despite the fact there is precedence for
the board overturning the decision. My lawyer went into
settlement without studying the case law on this subject and
I got less than squat. Is there any loophole in the law that
could get around the 180-day time limit? I live in North
    Carolina. thanks.
