Post: Compromise & release

Posted by Anthony on 11/29/08
Hello. I have a question I hope to have answered before
signing what I anticipate will be a "compromise and release"
settlement offer after having filed a claim for workers
compensation injury.
I expect that an attorney who filed a work comp case against
the state of california will, because of current legal
climate there now, negociate this type of settlement. I also
have a Charge filed with the EEOC, but have not utilized
their right to sue letter yet.
If I sign such a "compromise and release" from the work comp
claim will this bar me from pursuing further legal action
with an EEOC write to sue letter?
