Post: Wrongful Termination

Posted by Stephanie on 1/23/09
I was fired from a staffing agency in November. I signed a non-compete 6 yrs ago. I went out of work for 16 months for maturnity leave, however i was handed a pink slip so i could collect unemployment during my time off due to the fact that the agency did not have a maturnity leave. The contract was for 1 yr after my termination. I never resigned it when i went back. I was just recently let go from another staffing agency due to that non compete. I feel i was unfairly let go. I feel the original non compete was no longer valid because i was out, and was handed a pink slip for the 16 months prior to my final termination with the first staffing agency. Basically I am just looking for advice, and wondering if I have a case against my new previous employer for wrongful termination?
