Post: Removal of Job Responsibility without cause

Posted by Ricki on 3/31/10
I have been performing a specific job at the same company for over 10 years. I have automated the processes and created multiple metrics and standard reports for analysis. I have recieved glowing performance reviews and praise for my efforts. Recently, I have been told that I will no longer be handling this responsibilty (cutting my job responsibilities in half) and that I am REQUIRED to train and hand over the spreadsheets/databases that I have created for my own efficiency in the process. My question is, am I required to pass along the automation that I created to the new person? (please note: I have not been tasked with any new job responsbilities that would conflict with my current responsibilities, nor have I been reprimanded for any poor behavior)
