Hmmmm. very interesting. are the stats you quote only military
hospitals? As long as I've known, which is a pretty long time,
colostomies were a common --in fact the only-- treatment for the
most severe cases of the diseases you listed. I often heard
(working in a hospital near a large military installation)that
the military docs were about 15 years behind the rest of the
country in treatments and procedures.
