I'm living proof of how correct L is. Today was the last straw; my wife filed for divorce. After two years of me trying to make it as a solo (after one year as an associate raking in $28,000.00 per year), she's had enough. During those wonderful two years, we (I) incurred $40,000.00 in credit card debt (on top of $37,000 in student loans). I learned that the clients who hire new solos generally aren't worth having as clients. So this law degree has cost me my money, years of my time, my marriage, and my future. Solos, beware.
