    Brian = fool, Part II.

    The truth is, my area (Massachusetts) has a shortage of people willing to
    take public defender cases in Superior Court, which would include the child
    molesters and killers of the infirm and elderly (maybe a half a dozen of
    those cases per year, if that, which are assigned to people on the murder
    list, a relatively small group). Most people want the District Court
    assignments which includes A&B, OUI, and, yes, public urinators. As others
    have said, people have a right to a defense, and some of these people are
    actually innocent. The system only works when all defendants have a zealous
    defense. And there's always going to be a waiting list for guaranteed income
    for self-employed solos (who can bill this up to $90k per year).

    Now, Brian, why don't you go change your diaper and go to bed.
