Post: what does MMI mean

My husband is hurt and on workmans comp, his boss just
said that he's "MMI" What in the world does this mean?
He's done with therapy and released to full duty today,
but his boss said that he can't go back to work till he
gets a rating, something just don't sound right?! does
anyone know about any of this kinda thing; he did have to
have surgery 5 months ago. If so, please help me
understand! Thank you for your time,
