Dear Lisa, The cops are just lazy and do not want to do their jobs. Call the Mayor, or whoever is over the cops, and make a complaint that they are not doing their jobs. Secondly, change the locks, if you have not already done so. When he comes knocking on your door, call the cops again. If you have city cops and county deputies, call the one that you have not been calling. Also, call the New York State Police and tell them that the local cops refuse to enforce the laws of New York. You absolutely do not have to let this guy into your house. Refuse to do so. Let him knock on the door until the cops haul him away. Also, get you a man who will take up for you, and let him act as your "law enforcer", since the cops won't do what they are getting paid to do. If all else fails, go to the local city court or justice of the peace and seek an injunction or peace bond against him from harrassing you. You do not have to put up with that. If you need to talk to a N.Y. lawyer, call Bryan Konoski in N.Y. City (Manhattan and Long Island) and tell him I suggested you call him and ask him what you should do. He will be nice enough to talk with you as a favor to me. Tell him that I asked him to talk with you as a favor to me. He and I are good friends. He's a great lawyer! Good luck! You can call me also if you need to talk about this. Sincerely, Hardy Parkerson, Atty. Lake Charles, LA (337) 478-6126 P.S.: Konoski has a web-site; try looking it up. Good luck!
