Re: West Coast School Of Law

    G Thurmond:

    I took the FYLSX in June 2005. The topics included Contracts, Criminal &
    Tort law. The exam was a full one day event and consisted of 4 essays in
    the morning session/100 multiple choice questions in the afternoon
    session. It is a very difficult exam; there was nothing "baby" about
    it. It is essentially a shortened version of the bar exam. Just
    consider 3 years later when you have to do this on all of the law topics;
    complete 8 essays, 2 performance review tests & 200 multiple choice
    questions over a 3 day period.

    You must visit the Ca Bar website (www.calbar.org) to see if there have
    been any test, content or requirement changes; this occurs frequently.
    Pay your fees early and sign up as soon as you become eligible. Decide
    if you want to take the exam by pencil/paper or on a laptop computer. If
    you pass the FYLSX exam, you are well on your way to becoming a lawyer.
    The MPRE & Bar exam are the final hurdles. The statement of good moral
    character should be filed as well (typically in the 4th year). Again,
    you must visit the Ca Bar website for all details. I have only stated
    what was required when I took & passed the exams. I make no
    warranties/guaranties regarding the material I have posted. Good luck!
