    Thanks for the response. I thought about clerking and looked
    for a job in Washington to do that - home state, plus the
    Washington Bar allows for a four year clerkship to qualify to
    take the Bar Exam.

    Unfortunately, I live in Texas which does not allow that
    option.

    The truly fortunate thing for me is that my supervising
    attorney is very supportive of my goal and believes he can be
    teaching me the practice of the law while I'm learning the law
    for the purpose of taking/passing the California Bar. In
    fact, the firm has already started developing an immigration
    law practice. Guess who is doing most of the work.

    What an opportunity though. By the time I finish school and
    have a license, I'll already have a thriving practice going.
