Post: Respondent to an Order of Protection due process violated
Posted by John in Florida on 5/30/05
An Order of Protection was filed against me by my EX-wife in the State of Tennessee. I live in Florida and was never officially served with an EX-Parte order of protection (I refused the certified letter of notice. I had no idea what was in the envelope). I was never given a chance to defend myself. Also, my ex-wife was emailing me with friendly emails during the time period of the Ex- Parte order was in effect. My question here is two fold. Was the Order of Protection granted violating my due process rights. Also, did my ex- wife's emails violate her end of the Order?
