Re: Peanut and nut and may contain nut ban in public school

I am the parent of a severly allergic child. I have seen my child struggle to breath, have you had this happen to your child? I have to say most parents I deal with are more than willing to eliminate PEANUT BUTTER from their childs lunch. The mere thought of their own child dying in school as a result of another child simply touching or sitting too close, is enough to put the ordeal in perspective. Furthermore my 5 year old totally understands the severity of his reactions, he knows Peanut butter can literally KILL him in a matter of minutes. It is not the child with the allergy that doesn't understand, it is the non-allergic children and their uneducated parents. For any parent to have a problem with a community supporting it's children needs a reality check. When you go to bed tonight think of the parents, I being one of them who have nightmares about their child going to school. Think about being worried for 2 hours a day when you know your child is having lunch and waiting to see if your going to get the call today. It is a horrible situation to be in. Again, WHAT IF IT WAS YOUR CHILD?
