What probably happened is this - The judge felt you were voluntarily unemployed to get out of my paying child support (which happens a lot - the men think I can quit my $5,000 a month job temporarily until they set child support). He then set your wages at what you should be making. He made it retroactive because in most states the increase applies to the date the increase was filed for. That's how it works for everyone. Frankly, the judge probably felt you should be making $50k a year.
