Just because OP didn't land (perhaps didn't want to land) a job at a firm doesn't mean he's a loser who'll never practice law. I didn't even apply at a firm for personal reasons most of which had to do with wanting a life of my own. I'm not getting rich, but I'm doing something that I love (most days). In rural areas, there are no firms. There's one office in a nearby small city that actually has 5 attorneys in it, but in this area most are partners or solos. And there's plenty of work for all of us. It's hard, it doesn't pay real great but you can really make a difference and be part of the community. This IS a chat board for solos and to me that means encouraging and helping. L, you are certainly entitled to your opinion but perhaps if you don't have anything good to say....?
