Danny, I've been a member and/or in a leadership position in 5 different unions. I've lived through the strikes and lock-outs. I've fought oppressive management. If some scab comes in and tries to take a job away from me or one of my fellow members--if he wants to cash in on all the benefits without paying the price--if he wants to suck up to management against the guy on the line next to him--you better believe he's gonna get an earful every time I see him. The OP exercised his "freedom of choice." He chose to accept the benefits without paying the price. He chose to spit in the faces of the union members that have made the sacrifices. And just what is he supposed to see a lawyer about? The union members and sympathizers also have a "freedom of choice." They can choose to treat him like a scum-bag scab and its completely legal.
