Will I be able to > postpone other upcoming events till I aquire another > attorney? check with an incoming attorney in your state what the applicable law is in such a situation. the laws and regulations regarding attorney discharge vary from state to state and your question cannot be adequately answered on here by anyone who is not familiar with the applicable laws in your particular state. in addition, you also may be liable to pay for the attorney's fees on a quantum meruit basis if the case was taken on contingency.
