    Re: Firing your attorney

    Posted by annette on 7/13/03

I would like to respond to workers compensation cases. My
husband is a ceramic tile setter and fell and received serious
injuries to his back...He has 3 buldging discs and has been off
work for 9 mths....the insurance co. has given us nothing but a
hard time....we hired an attorney and all he did was get our
weekly benefits cut off....also- when we hired him he said we
had a retailiatory discharge claim against the employer...he
said he was going to file it the very week we hired him...also-
the insurance company's doctor released him to work with NO
IMPAIRMENT rating- yet severe restrictions on duty....the
lawyer acted like he was really going to do something....now- 3
months later---he has acted like he doesn't even want to talk
to us...another thing- he even went along with the insurance
co. hiring their on person to give my husband the vocational
disability test and said if he didn't like the results- he
would have it done over....the test was only a short test and
it has been over 5 weeks and their lawyer acts like he can't
get the results...and my lawyer acts all scared to get the
results...their lawyer said we were calling the employer, which
was a lie, and now our lawyer says that shot down any
    retaliatory claim....well- i fired this lawyer....i know a sell
    out when i see it...i ruinned their brother-in-law deal....just
think- now our lawyer will have to return the "under the table
sell-out money"....i am just glad we found out before it became
more involved....when your lawyer gets too quit and does
nothing---it is time to fire him....remember- he is working for
you and being paid by your settlement.....
