When these Sailors and Marines refused; they were sent to jail cells to ensure that they would be charged with Article 86 of the UCMJ (In hands of Civilian Authorities still counts as an unauthorized absense even though the individual is found not guilty or has all charges dropped or dismissed.) -- Did anyone see the Jacksonville Daily News today? Do you notice a pattern of the "unauthorized absense"? Why would this marine who was honorably discharged, ready to leave on Sunday, have an unauthorized absense and kill himself? Read the following quote from the paper: in the paper today (November 17, 2006) “There was blood and a handgun near the young male’s head,” said Onslow County Sheriff Ed Brown. An autopsy was conducted by Dr. William Kelley, an Onslow County medical examiner, on Oct. 26, and it was determined that Langsdon died of a single gunshot wound to the head. At the time, Kelley said, “the death is being investigated to rule out a homicide, but it could very well be a suicide.” Authorities examined evidence collected at the scene and interviewed people connected to Langsdon, who at the time of his death was considered absent from the Marine Corps without authorization, Brown said.
