Re: CAS pulling out of construction disputes
Posted by Crow on 8/08/09

CAS has pulled out of construction arbitrations, it's on
their home page. Also a document was found online from a MN
Realtor's org showing that they are merely changing the
requirement there to arbitrate w/CAS, to National Center for
Dispute Settlement, NCDS, which is of course one of the
companies all owned by the same people as CAS, so it's not
really a change of arbitration firms. HADD has posted info
about this on its news page today, and their message boards
under Arbitration, also Home Warranties: hadd.com News post
    link is http://www.hadd.com/node/1320

20details.pdf This PDF shows they are changing to NCDS, it's
from the REALTORŪ Association of Southern MN:

RE: Arbitration Case Management Business for Home Warranty
    Disputes and Private Construction Disputes

The purpose of this notice is to inform you that
Construction Arbitration Services ("CAS") has made a
strategic decision to permanently exit from the binding
    construction arbitration dispute case administration
    business effective July 1, 2009.

As a result, CAS is not accepting any new cases as of July
1, 2009. CAS will continue to administer cases existing as
of June 30, 2009 until such time as the arbitration process
    is concluded.
