Re: National Arbitration Forum
Posted by Blood from a Stone on 4/21/06

I recently received their standard letter, which (helpfully)
included the name and resume (!) of the selected arbitrator
along with about ten pages of tiny computer printout describing
over 120 previous cases he had handled. Surprise -- 99% of them
ended in a favorable decision for the claimant, which was always
the same collection agency. I bet they're not happy that the
law requires them to provide this information to us . . . and
that the law also gives me the right (stated on the first page
of their letter) to dispute the choice of arbitrator. So, I'll
write them and state plainly that any arbitrator who returns 99%
in favor of the claimant can in no way be remotely considered a
"neutral party," and that I will not accept or recognize any
decision coming from any such arbitrator. And so forth.
